Harvesting the vineyard in the early morning hours to maximize acidity followed by gently coaxing the juice from the whole cluster, this wine ferments in 100% stainless steel. With minimal skin and seed contact, this delicate rosé offers a bone-dry style accompanied by a touch of weight and complexity.
JAX VINEYARDS, NAPA VALLEY The sparking red gem hue color offers aromas of strawberry and apple blossom. On the palate, enjoy bright flavors of Rainier Cherry and wild strawberry culminating elegantly into a crisp, bright finish.
Meet our Y3 Taureau, an indulgent blend sourced from premium vineyards. Starting with Merlot, sourced from Dry Creek Valley, the Taureau offers a polished blend with Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Full bodied. Feisty. Just like the legendary bull after whom it was named. And not only does Taureau pair well with most dishes, but it offers a “special occasion taste” at an “everyday wine price.” For a gorgeous blend with a soft entry and deep complexity, grab a bull by the bottle.
This wine is what one would expect with a name like Taureau. Boasting incredible purple fruit colors, the flavors of blackberry, black cherry and red fruit ooze into the palate, all supported by polished tannins. Balanced and delicious, this wine should drink well up on release until 2022 or longer.
Our goal with this wine was to produce an approachable, everyday drinking wine that pairs with a range of foods.
Y3. Or as you may ask, why not? After all, the beauty of this wine runs far deeper than the label. Celebrating three generations of land-tilling, wine-loving Jacksons, siblings Kimberly and Trent are proud to present Y3, a wine as special as the memories of their grandparents at Yarrayne Ranch.
In our humble wine-obsessed opinion, many Napa Valley Chardonnays tend to be over-styled with excessive butter and oak. But as the Jackson siblings know (through lots of “testing“), an outstanding Chardonnay owes its success to outstanding fruit, not a heavy style. We think you’ll agree.
The Y3 Chardonnay begins with tropical finesse, fresh white fruit aromas and lingering notes of honeysuckle and sliced pear. The palate is clean with bright citrus and a tingling minerality. Neither pushy nor boastful, this Chardonnay will leave a lasting impression that is enjoyable now through 2016.
Summers get hot in Calistoga and it was on such a feverish day that siblings Kimberly and Trent found inspiration for this wine. The aim was simple: Make a clean and refreshing wine while representing a true to varietal Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.
This Sauvignon Blanc begins with fresh vibrant aromas of melon, pear, grapefruit and hints of dried apricot and fig. The palate captures the essence of the aromatics with a bounty of bright citrus and minerality laced with crisp acidity that lingers with a fresh finish.
Introducing the debut of our first JAX vineyard designate Chardonnay! Sourced from a highly coveted vineyard on the southwest side of Carneros, this vineyard produces pristine fruit preserved by the San Pablo Bay sea breeze. Kirk Venge elevates the fruit with delectable French oak accents. The limited production and remarkable flavor profile inspired us to hand wax every single bottle…
This chardonnay opens up with aromas of bright fruit, including pear, citrus, and white peach. Delectably rich, the creamy melange of apricot jam, white peach and honey flavors are framed by warm vanilla and almond notes. Winemaker Kirk Venge achieves a balanced acidity that keeps this wine fresh and lively on the palate.
Here at Jax, we have always viewed Pinot Noir as a distant fantasy. The grape demands mild temperatures and very specific conditions. Long story short, it's one finicky varietal. Fast forward to the arrival of our new CEO Dan Parrot, a true pinot enthusiast. Having worked with some of the best producers in Burgundy, Dan inspired us to seek the ultimate pinot vineyard. One yielding a complex yet balanced style. Something both lush and elegant. The winner? A small, breezy spot just off the Sonoma coast. The result? A pinot that's sure to seduce. With aromas of dried cherry, plum and strawberry that lead to subtle hints of pine, this new wine is a pleasure to behold. Now or in 2020. But really, why keep your date waiting?
Sitting along the California coastline, the Sonoma Coast is known for producing beautiful Pinot Noir. 2012 was no exception. Ocean breezes during bright, sunny days and brisk morning fog allow proper ripening while preserving the lively acidity in the wine. Gradual ripening allowed development of beautiful fruit flavors of cherry, kirsch, and light blackberry.
The 2011 growing season in Napa Valley proved to be complicated and difficult for all vintners. Cool temperatures in the spring delayed fruit onset and reduced fruit yields across the valley. Following a slow growing season, October came with rains and humidity, requiring diligent pruning and further delaying the harvest. However, late October heat gave our fruit the ripening it needed resulting in a balanced wine, with refined elegance.
JAX VINEYARDS, NAPA VALLEY Our Cabernet Franc crop continues produce nothing but beautiful age-worthy wines. Leaving an inky coating on the wine glass, this wine leads with aromas of caramel, cherry and espresso bean. The palate follows suit with well balanced flavors of sweet black fruit, cinnamon and spices. Cellared properly, this wine will drink well into 2030 and beyond.
Winemaker Kirk Venge showcases our Calistoga terroir in this estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. The bouquet opens up with notes of mocha, camphor and crushed herbs. The palate follows with flavors of cherry, espresso and blackberry with hints of new French oak. This wine can be enjoyed now or cellared till 2028.
