As perpetual Rosé lovers, we wanted to craft a style that would reflect the delicate pureness that even a French wine lover would fawn over. The key determinant would be the highest acclaimed vineyard source in the Russian River Valley. In fact, all other Pinots sourced from this vineyard are priced at least twice as high. With minimal skin contact, this delicate Rosé offers a bone-dry style accompanied by a touch of weight and complexity. Step up your game, and select this refreshing, food-friendly choice as a worthy alternative to your normal summer sipper. Think "Lunch in Provence"!
Aromas of wild strawberry and white jasmine leap from the glass of this dry Rosé of Pinot Noir. On the palate, layers of yellow cherry, juicy cantaloupe melon and tart raspberry are accented by mouth-watering acidity and a clean, refreshing finish. This wine pairs perfectly with fresh, herbed goat cheese, lazy pool-side lounging and balmy summer evenings spent on patios with great friends.
The name Taureau, was the name of the Jackson family's prized bull, legendary for his feisty, high-kicking and vibrant personality. When perfecting this wine at their blending session, the JAX team concurred that the character of their infamous bull reflected the structure and elements of this indulgent red blend... and what a perfect tribute to their family ranching legend.
This unique blend pushes through to the senses aromas of blackberry and violets. A beautifully sexy wine, with a dense purple color, big kiss of blackberry and cassis liqueur, licorice and spice followed by lush, heady, full-bodied flavors that caress the palate. Balanced and delicious, this wine drinks well upon release and will cellar till 2020 and beyond.
Y3. Or as you may ask, why not? After all, the beauty of this wine runs far deeper than the label. Celebrating three generations of land-tilling, wine-loving Jacksons, siblings Kimberly and Trent are proud to present Y3, a wine as special as the memories of their grandparents at Yarrayne Ranch.
In our humble wine-obsessed opinion, many Napa Valley Chardonnays tend to be over-styled with excessive butter and oak. But as the Jackson siblings know (through lots of “testing“), an outstanding Chardonnay owes its success to outstanding fruit, not a heavy style. We think you’ll agree.
The 2015 Y3 Chardonnay is laced with tropical fruit, lemon, pastry and crushed rocks. Bright, articulated and chiseled througout, this wine is all about intense minerality. Layers of saline-infused bright fruit caress the palate on the beautifully articulated finish. This wine drinks beautifully now but will cellar nicely for several years to come.
Summers get hot in Calistoga and it was on such a feverish day that siblings Kimberly and Trent found inspiration for this wine. The aim was simple: Make a clean and refreshing wine while representing a true to varietal Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc.
Aromatic notes of grapefruit peel and honeysuckle. Bright, round flavors of fresh fruit, juicy lime, lychee, and Meyer lemon. This wine has a clean mouth feel with refreshing minerality, crisp acidity and a long finish. Wonderful with spicy dishes and fresh summer salads.
Sourced from Dutton Ranch's Sebastopol vineyard, our JAX Reserve Chardonnay vines dwell in famed "moon dust" soil. This fine grain soil provides the perfect combination of excellent drainage and low yields. Winemaker Kirk Venge crafts a creamy melange of apricot jam, crisp pear and vanilla flavors with a refreshing citrus acidity that keeps this wine fresh and lively on the palate. Hand waxing each bottle, we call this wine "decadence inside and out."
This wine begins with a vibrant, golden hue that rolls out notes of butterscotch, light caramel and delicate barrel canillin. Crisp lemon drop and meringue flavors run rampant around the palate. Medium bodied and dry by nature, there is a slight perceived sweetness of fruit on the finish.
Here at Jax, we have always viewed Pinot Noir as a distant fantasy. The grape demands mild temperatures and very specific conditions. Long story short, it's one finicky varietal. Fast forward to the arrival of our new CEO Dan Parrot, a true pinot enthusiast. Having worked with some of the best producers in Burgundy, Dan inspired us to seek the ultimate pinot vineyard. One yielding a complex yet balanced style. Something both lush and elegant. The winner? A small family owned, sustainable vineyard in the Russian River Valley. The result? A pinot that's sure to seduce. But really, why keep your date waiting?
This wine exhibits a deep ruby color, a Volnay-like, hints of plums, figs, overripe cherries, and an attractive floral note combined with subtle toasty oak. This is a complex, elegant, flavorful wine with multiple nuances. Bottled unfined and unfiltered this wine will provide immense pleasure over the next 6-7 years.
This Cabernet Franc is produced solely from the JAX Vineyard in Calistoga. The alluvial loam soil, a summer of ideal northern Calistoga sun and 21 months of patience in the cellar. We knew that we would be doing Cab Franc lovers and ourselves an injustice to not bottle this wine on it's own. Just 3 barrels (72 cases) of this lovely, drinkable, yet age-worthy wine to go around.
This 100% Cabernet Franc displays a saturated, deep purple color. The aromas of summer berries and violets jump out of the glass when swirled. On the palate you will find concentrated flavors of dark cherries, currant and fresh herbs. This supple, elegant, and balanced wine is brilliant now and will continue to mature for 7-10 years.
On the nose, this astonishing wine entices with generous aromas of blueberry and dark cherry, wild sage and lilacs. On the palate, its mouth-filling texture is perfectly balanced with bright acidity and a beautiful core of ripe fruit, followed by an incredibly persistent mineral and herbal finish. Its fine-grained tannins and weight with out heaviness ensure that it is drinkable now but will age for many years to come.

A very clean nose, with gorgeous pear puree. I like the great mouthfeel of this wine, which is round but not fat, and attacks the palate in a lovely way. Really persistent, creamy apple and citrus fruits, like an apple-lemon pudding. I like this wine a whole lot. Gary Vaynerchuk, on the 2009 Y3 Chardonnay
