Jax Jams | PIZZA & PINOT NOIR

JAX welcomes the sensational Sami Stevens for our next popular monthly PIZZA & PINOT NOIR event.

Sami Stevens harnesses Jazz, Soul, and Folk influences to create truly intimate original music. Accompanying herself on piano or Wurlitzer, Sami delivers dynamic, personal performances deeply steeped in the lineage of the great American singer-songwriters of the 60’s and 70’s.

An accomplished solo artist, Stevens is also an avid collaborator. She is on the road with nine-time Grammy winner Norah Jones, playing auxiliary keys and providing background vocals as Norah tours her 2024 release, ‘Visions.’’

Sami’s performance and recording career has transcended genre; she has performed with Brian Blade, Emily King, John Scofield, Gary Wilson, Curren$y, and Jason Moran.

Returning to Jax is our wonderful pizzaiolo partner CHIDOS. Founded in Oakland, the Chidos team is renowned for their delicious wood-fired pizzas made with organic ingredients. Join us for a pie, a glass of your favorite red, and enjoy our talent.

Jax Jams with Camucha’s Kitchen

JAX welcomes the sensational Rabiah Kabir and Caumcha’s Kitchen for the next Jax Jams.

Rabiah Kabir is a Jazz flute player who uses her instrument, skill in storytelling and
unique style to bend the expectations of what “Jazz” music really is. Born and raised in the East Bay, Rabiah draws from her lived experience as a mixed Black woman to create music that is meditative, contemplative and conceptual.

Camucha’s Kitchen was founded in September 2022 by Chef Carmen Anderson, a Bay Area-based pop up dedicated to preserving authentic Criollo Peruvian cuisine. Chef Carmen’s culinary roots run deep. At just eight years old, she began working in her mother’s restaurant in Lima, Peru, spending over a decade mastering traditional family recipes and learning the art of running a restaurant.

The name “Camucha” is both a common Peruvian nickname for Carmen and a heartfelt tribute to her mother, whose cherished recipes inspire every dish served. Using authentic Peruvian spices, each meal is crafted to deliver the true flavors, colors, and aromas of Peru’s rich culinary heritage.
