April Varner & Eytan Schillinger-Hyman

San Francisco native Eytan Schillinger-Hyman is an accomplished upright and electric bassist and composer, performing across the New York City and Bay Area jazz scenes. A Juilliard-trained musician, he has appeared at renowned venues including Blue Note NYC, Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center, SFJAZZ, Smalls Jazz Club, and the Monterey Jazz Festival.
Joining Eytan is award-winning vocalist April Varner, whose timeless sound and deep roots in the jazz tradition have earned her national recognition. The 2023 International Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Vocal Competition winner and DownBeat Magazine’s 2025 “Rising Star Female Vocalist,” April has performed at premier jazz venues including Birdland, Blues Alley, and 54 Below. Her debut album, April by April Varner, was named one of DownBeat Magazine’s Best Albums of 2024.
